Exploring Beaver County: A Morning Coffee Run

Exploring Beaver County: A Morning Coffee Run

This isn't your typical coffee run.

This answers the question of "What should we do this weekend?". We want you to really go for it and explore everything that Beaver County has to offer. To get our bearings, in true Pittsburgh fashion, we have to start at a landmark. Well, that landmark is Heinz Field. All roads lead to Heinz Field, amiright?

Whatever way you end up coming from, enjoy the scenic ride out to Beaver County, fuel up with amazing coffee from Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea, eat classic donuts from Oram's, walk off those donuts at Brady's Run Park, grab your dessert for later at Kretchmar's, and finally have a late breakfast or lunchtime bagel sandwich at Beaver Bagel Co.

1. Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea

 Address3219 4th Ave, Beaver Falls, PA 15010

Business Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-6pm; Fri 7am-5pm; Sat 8am-5pm; Sun CLOSED

Our first stop is to one of Cityscription's roasting partners, Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea. Tucked away in Beaver County, a short drive up 65, Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea has been a cherished member of the local coffee community for nearly two decades. Known to locals as BFCAT, it's the perfect place to start our morning coffee run. Find one of the many cozy nooks to enjoy your coffee before you head out to stop #2!

2. Oram's Donuts

 Address1406 7th Ave, Beaver Falls, PA 15010

Business Hours: Mon-Sat 5am-12pm; Sun CLOSED

They don't need much introduction, but if you have never been to Oram's shop, this trip to Beaver County is the time to do it! A tradition since 1938, Oram's Donut Shop dominates the donut game not only locally, but state-wide. Ranked as the "Best in Pennsylvania" by Food & Wine Magazine, it is definitely worth a stop. Plus, we are going to walk off those calories at our next stop, so they don't really count!

Tip: Order your donuts the day before for pickup. Sneak in at least a cinnamon roll and whatever special donut they have that day!

3. Brady's Run Park

Address121 Bradys Run Rd, Beaver Falls, PA 15010

Business Hours: It's a park... Go when it is light out.

This is a little choose-your-own-adventure spot as Brady's Run Park has so much to offer. We are partial to finding a trail along the water and skipping rocks, but with nearly 2,000 acres and being the largest park in Beaver County, you can pick and choose your fun! There's a dog park, walking and biking trails, boating and fishing, a beach, and plenty of great picnic spots. Walk off those Oram's Donuts and work up an appetite for the last two spots on our trip to Beaver County.

4. Kretchmar's Bakery

 Address664 3rd St, Beaver, PA 15009

Business Hours: Tues-Sat 5am-6:30pm; Sun CLOSED

Ok, you already had your sweets at Oram's, why are we stopping at another bakery? Well, first off, those were breakfast sweets--you need something for after dinner too! Kretchmar's Bakery is a legendary spot that has been "Baking a better batter" since 1960. This place gives you all the nostalgia but backs it up with perfect cookies, pies, and tortes. Sneak in a couple of thumbprint cookies and maybe even a loaf of bread for your dinner.

5. Beaver Bagel Co.

Address208 Bridge St, Bridgewater, PA 15009

Business Hours: Wed-Sun 7am-2pm

Everyone has their favorite bagel joint, and we're confident in saying that Beaver Bagel Co. ranks among the best in the Pittsburgh area. Let's finish our coffee trip strong with a bagel sandwich--because honestly, is there any other way? Depending on your mood, you can still go for the egg sandwich (can't beat the Classic) or lean into the lunchtime vibes with a deli sandwich.

Pro Tip: Order ahead to skip the wait. Just walk up, grab your goodies, and enjoy your food on their front lawn picnic tables!

We hope you enjoy this journey through Beaver County as much as we did. And if you love discovering local gems, check out our Cityscription coffee subscription to get the best local coffee delivered right to you. Enjoy exploring!
